This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which The Sunflower Project website collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the www.sunflowerproject.ca website (“Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by The Sunflower Project website.

PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION  
We may collect personal identification information from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our site, respond to a survey, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may be asked for, as appropriate, email address. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if you choose to provide that information to us.  Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

NON-PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION 
The Sunflower Project’s web server automatically creates log files for each visitor who accesses their site. These “access logs” allow us to make the site more useful to our Users. The access logs DO NOT record a User’s name, address, phone number, credit card numbers, or any other personally-identifying information.  They contain some or all of the following information about Users connecting to our site: 

• the browser name, 

• the Internet Protocol Address (IP Address) of the machine which accessed our website,

• the type of computer and operating system, 

• the date and time of the visit,

• the Internet service providers and pathway taken tour our site,

• any errors encountered.

WEB BROWSER COOKIES

Like many websites, this site makes use of cookies.

Our Site also uses “cookies” to enhance User experience. A cookie is a string of characters that can be written to a file on the User’s hard drive when the user visits a website. Only the website that set the cookie can read it, and it can only be used as a record keeping device to store information that the site already has. We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above.  We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes provided that you have given us your permission.

The Sunflower Project website also may disclose personal information if required to do so by law or if it believes that such action is necessary to (a) comply with the law or with legal process, (b) protect against misuse or unauthorized use of the Site, or (c) protect the personal safety or property of The Sunflower Project users, the public or The Sunflower Project and its employees.

SECURITY 
We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

The Site has in place what we believe to be appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. Information provided to the Site is protected through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security features, which scramble your personal information so that only your web browser and our website’s server can decipher it.

OPTING OUT
Please contact us to a) correct or update any personal information in the Site database that you state is erroneous, b) opt-out of future communications from The Sunflower Project or c) request The Sunflower Project to make reasonable efforts to remove your personal information from the Site online database. The user understands that it may be impossible to delete personal information entirely because of backups and records of deletions.

Users may find advertising or other content on our Site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. The Sunflower Project has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
